havecomplete THINKING OF YOU'sready for queryfirst round of revisions. I went back over the first six chapters, then sent them to two of my critique partners. This concludes the small revisions. - I will have two new first drafts. I finished plotting the marriage dystopian which I have entitled OBJECTION.
I will win National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo).- I will submit
at least two short storiesto two anthologies, journals, ezines, and/or contests. I have decided to submit a poem I wrote at camp to Vine Leaves Literary Journal after I edit it. - I will read at least one hundred books. I read five books this month and am currently reading three others. Goodreads says that I am eleven books behind.
- I will post at least one vlog a month. I made and posted a video where I talk about the first part of Fahrenheit 451.
- I will exercise in some way once a week. For the first two weeks (July 1-14) I was at my grandparents' where I took many neighborhood walks. The fourth week (July 22-28) I went swimming for an hour.
I do wish to celebrate a breakthrough I've made on my revisions of THINKING OF YOU. The revising schedule idea did not go so well (I managed two or three days in a row), but my fear of revisions has finally subsided. Before the thought of so much change and having no idea how to implement that change scared the crap out of me, probably the reason it's taken me so long to do so little. I believe I've gotten over this and can get some real work done now.
This month, however, the goal that I am putting most of my efforts into is the second. I'm using Camp NaNoWriMo to finish my first draft of OBJECTION. For current updates on my word count and goals, I suggestion you look at my Tumblr.

Delete100 books in a year is a a lot of books! I'll be lucky if I read half that.
ReplyDeleteI actually haven't read half of it yet. :/ I'm on 47. Like I said, it's one of my biggest concerns.
DeleteMy fitness pal is a great motivator. I fell off the exercise train due to a throat infection. However, I'm going to the doctor today and am going to request some weight loss help. Hopefully, I'll get a prescription for phentermine or some Qsymia (the new FDA drug that got approval a few weeks ago). I'll cross my fingers for Qsymia.
ReplyDeleteI also fell off the fitness train because of a move and what might or not be my gall bladder. And now I have the beginnings of flu. Trying to fight it down so I can get back to exercising on Monday, but honestly I'm not sure if that'll happen. :-(
ReplyDeleteOoh. I also recently got over being sick. I find it better to be completely rested before you do anything. That way you can put your full effort into, in your case, exercising without thinking about how crummy you feel the whole time.
DeleteI only set a goal of 40 books this year (already more than I've read in a year before) and Goodreads says I'm currently 6 books behind! Aaaah! I've barely read more than a few pages every night in the past few weeks. I thought in the past few days I could finally start to relax and read more, but it hasn't happened yet!
